COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
01 about

Hello! My name is May Phan, and I am an AmeriCorps member with The Alliance's VISTA program. In 2019, I graduated magna cum laude with a BA from University of Georgia, Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications with an Entertainment and Media studies major, a Sociology minor, and a New Media certificate. In 2023, I also completed a OneStar Nonprofit Career Development Certificate from Texas A&M University.
As a Community Engagement VISTA, I serve the Community Relations teams with internal and external communications, planning and marketing annual events, and graphic designs. Additionally, I serve the Social Adjustment Services by developing resources and guides for our clients and creating partnerships with other nonprofits and community members. Our clients consist of refugees, asylees, survivors of human trafficking, immigrants and underserved residents of Houston, TX.
I am proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva and Microsoft Office. I am passionate about storytelling for nonprofits, and I love to use multimedia content creation to engage the community with a cause. Please enjoy my website and feel free to reach out!
